Don't think THIS outfit passes the "finger-tip" rule!!

So - this morning is I ask Kelzey to go get dressed (mind you this is for school NOT dance) and she comes up with this outfit - leggings, her short hot-shorts, pink sparkle tank-top, and her her top from last years hip-hop recital - needless to say she was NOT going to wear that to school and as you can tell from her face she was not happy!

So - we decided to compromise and we came up with this outfit - we changed the dance hot-shorts for a denim-skirt and the pink sparkle tank-top for a white one - although it wouldn't be my first choice for an outfit and least we were both happy when she left for school =)

Love this song!

Okay - you have to listen to this song! A client/friend of mine, Jason Wright, is the author of the book Recovering Charles - he also wrote The Christmas Jars and others, very good author - anyways - he had a song commissioned for the book Recovering Charles and I absolutely fell in love with it the first time I heard it - so I wanted to share it with everyone.

It just reminds me of all the ups and downs of life and how each of struggle through the journey - some times due to the silly choices we make - but how we always seem to find our way back and hope those who matter most to us understand and still love us through it all - - Relationships change and people evolve but through it all everyone needs to know they are loved unconditionally.

At least that is what I got out of it - really rang true to me and has triggered many tender memories of dear friends who have never given up on me - you know who you are =)

Anyways - listen to it when you get a chance and let me know your thoughts on it!

Rah .....Rah .... Rah..Rah..Rah!

So this Cougar season has been a blast for us! We decided that instead of trying to get a game or two from Uncle Les/Van and having to worry about which those would be, we would just buy our own season tickets. We decided to get 4 tickets so when Shane and Laura did not come up we could either take the girls or some friends - we have been totally happy with our decision!! The first game we went to with Shane and Laura was the UCLA game. Needless to say (if the pictures don't show it) the boys were very anxious!!! We were playing UCLA and it was supposed to be a good/close game - which we were hopping for cause last season all the games were a little on the boringer (is that a word?!) side - they were fun still but no competition really so not much to jump up and down about. Well ...... funny thing about this game is that it we totally shut UCLA out - it was 59 - 0 - if you don't believe me I included a picture of the scoreboard - although it was a shut-out it was FAR from boring.

Half the fun of the game was keeping them at Zero - and I must say BYU was totally on point! Towards the last 3-4 quarter it was funny because the UCLA fans (yes, there were some there!) were all starting to leave. In particular there was this guy that walked out under our portal area (our seats are right above one of the openings) with his head hung low, and shaking back and forth, and his face as red as can be!! I tried to grab a picture of him but I was too slow. I did however, in proxy, grab a picture of some other UCLA fans at the end of the game walking back to their cars in shame ;) Good times!!!

She never ceases to amaze me

So Kelzey and I have started ready the Book Of Mormon together early in the morning - one, if gets me reading them and 2 it will hopefully form a good habit for her so she will not struggle with it as she gets older. We just started a few days ago and decided to start from the very start - today we read about the introduction and the special witnesses - we try to stop every so often to talk about what we are reading so we both understand (and it keeps us focused and awake) and today we talked about how we receive a testimony of the scriptures and how you can pray for a testimony - she told me she already knew the Book of Mormon was true - but I told her she could still pray for a special witness, just like the men we read about, so it will help her to continue to know what we are reading is true. Today as she said the prayer for breakfast she asked in part if she could have a special blessing to know if these things were true, and to know that the Book of Mormon is true and to have a special testimony of it - she just blows my mind - such simple and complete faith - It just reminds me that quite often our children are the ones teaching us.

The faith of a small child

Every Fast Sunday my heart races and I get so nervous when there are a few moments of silence - but I never have enough nerve to get up in front of everyone a share my testimony - today Kelzey taught me a valuable lesson. During sacrament meeting she asked me if she could go up and talk to - I asked her if she meant that she wanted to share her testimony and she confirmed that she did - I was nervous to let her go up there - you never know what kids are going to say - but there was no way I would feel good about saying no. So - up she went - it was so cute because when she got up in front near the bishopric she just kind of stood there for a few seconds - not know what to do or where to go - I could tell she was quite nervous - but on she went to the pulpit. She bore her testimony on how she knew that this was the true church and that she knew her family loved her and that Jesus loved her too - and that she knew that this was the House of Heavenly Father and Jesus. I was so proud of her! Tonight after family scripture study I asked her why she wanted to share her testimony and if she was scared - she confirmed that she was really scared but it didn't matter because she wanted everyone to know what she knew was true and that she knew that the Holy Ghost was telling her it was the right thing for her to do! I couldn't believe that such a sweet and innocent answer could be such a testimony of faith to me - of course she had to finish by asking me why I didn't share my testimony if I knew it was true .... I had to tell her that I was just too scared and that next time I would try to be more brave - she said she would help me so I could do it - - we'll have to wait and see how that goes =)
